Originating in Illinois, the Steudel Hybrid oak is a cross between the White oak (Quercus alba) and the Chinkapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii). Hybrids typically produce acorns at a young age. Given the highly attractive acorns produced by both Chinkapin and White Oak, this is a hybird we are very excited to offer.

Expect acorns to drop October-November.

Soil type: Wide range. Thrives on upland sites, will tolerate flooding, moist and poorly drained soils.
