The Shuwater Oak is a Shumard Oak x Water Oak hybrid. The Shumard Oak is a fast-growing member of the red oak family, valued for its adaptability, strong form, and vibrant fall color. The Water Oak needs little introduction to southern landowners — it’s a prolific, early-bearing mast producer common throughout bottomlands and a favorite feeding stop for deer and turkey. Combining these two natives brings together rapid growth with heavy, dependable acorn production at a young age, typical of many hybrid oaks. Expect Shuwater Oak to drop during October and November.
