The Bur Oak is a selection from the white oak family that produces enormous, tasty acorns at a reasonably young age. Highly adaptable to many soil types, the Bur oak is a tough tree that drops during the height of the rut, October-November. If you love the attraction and beauty of the White oak, but looking for a tree that grows faster and produces sooner, I recommend adding some Bur oaks to your plan.
