The Dwarf Chinkapin Oak is a very popular selection for deer managers due to its production of acorns at a young age. This selection will begin producing acorns in 3-4 years and is annually productive. The small to medium sized acorns are highly preferred by wildlife. The natural growth form is rather bushy, but with proper pruning, a small tree form can be achieved. Acorns hit the ground in September/October.
