The sawtooth oak is arguably the most popular tree for whitetail managers, and for good reason. You can expect consistent acorn production starting at 7 years. The sawtooth is prolific in its acorn production and deer absolutely love them. With a relatively short drop window, starting in September and usually wrapping up in October, you better be there for the action when they start to rain. Given this short drop window, we recommend planting other species with the sawtooth to keep your deer close by later in to the season.

Soil Requirements: tough and adapted to a wide range of conditions, but we recommend well drained soils
Zones: 5-9
